Nickleback has announced they will do one more concert tour to promote their 2005 release “All the Right Reasons” for the last time.
The new tour will start on Feburary 20th 2007 in Tacoma City in Washington state and will finish off on March 19 Orlando, Florida. This means it won’t be an overly long tour compared to what the band is used to… Hopefully the tour will spark another album release so we’re holding our fingers..

The band has agreed to present a special award in late November at the American Music Awards in L.A.
A number of major groups will also be on hand to present awards including the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Black Eyed Peas.

Just a few days ago Sean Avery, the Los Angeles Kings player, told reporters that our favorite band Nickelback was “Canada’s worst export” and compared them to the radio equivalent of lice, now one of my personal favorite hockey players Darcy Tucker, he plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs, has made it his personal mission to defend the band.
Why? Well Tucker hails from the same hometown as the band and as Darcy put it “I hardly ever agree with anything he says.”

It appears the music industry is having some difficulty changing its culture from one of bribery and backroom scheming to get its songs played on the radio to a more legitamate way of doing business.
Recently Universal Records got smacked with a $12 million dollar fine for buying radio ad time to play there songs, but what makes this related to the band Nickelback is that recently Roadrunner Records bought airtime to inflate the rankings of Nickelbacks song “Far Away” and it worked… But seeing as how Roadrunner is owned by Universal it does show that the often complaining about the legal rules music industry isn’t so clean itself.

I just saw this on ebay.ca but it appears that Nickelback has donated a number of signed objects to the International Childrens Awareness Canada auction.
